“When Should My Child Have Their First Eye Exam?”
Our eye doctors recommend scheduling your child’s first eye exam at 9 months of age. If everything looks healthy, we’ll see them again at age 3, then just before kindergarten, and annually after that.

Children’s Contact Lenses
There are many safe, healthy contact lens options available for children—and for active kids, they can make a big difference. Contact lenses offer freedom from glasses that may fall off, break, or fog up during athletics and play.
At Wink, our doctors often recommend daily, single-use contact lenses. These are especially kid-friendly as the safest, cleanest, healthiest way to wear contacts.
We also offer corneal reshaping lenses (orthokeratology), a proven method to gently reshape the surface of the eye overnight. These custom lenses not only provide clear vision during the day without glasses or contacts (really!), but they’ve also been shown to slow the progression of nearsightedness.
We’ve successfully fit children as young as four in contact lenses and have no strict age limit–just a commitment to finding a solution that is best for your family.
